Have you been to Portland, Maine? When Bon Appetit crowned Portland, the 2018 Restaurant City of the Year, I instantly added it to my travel list. Naturally, I browsed the internet for the eating hot spots. Lobster rolls was the common theme during my research. Its been two years since I visited and I am anxious to go back. Wondering if UberEats delivers to South Florida? Asking for a friend.
The Highroller Lobster Co. Two thumbs way up! It was the first roll we tried on our trip. Served warm with buttered lobster, it knocked our socks off. Setting the bar pretty high for the other rolls we had yet to eat.
Portland Maine Lobster & Co, a quaint restaurant with a view to the open water. Found on City Line Drive, your bun is made to order with a side of fries. Enjoy their outdoor seating while you bite into your roll.
There is lots of noise around this next one. And it deserves all the accolades. Eventide Osyter Co didn’t set out to make the best lobster roll, but that’s the word around town. A delicious spin on a lobster roll. Buttered lobster on a fluffy bao bun. Served warm. Be sure to try some oysters. They are unbelievably fresh.
Red’s Eats. Sighs. the lobster roll that ended it all. Though not in Portland, there was a ton of buzz about this being the number 1 lobster in all of Maine. The two hour drive was nice, followed by an hour of waiting time to place your order. By far the most generous portioned roll at $25. The bread was consumed by the lobster, you couldn’t even tell it was there. Served cold with a smidge of melted butter. The lobster meat was fresh but it was just too much for me.

P.S. Other good eats in Portland, Maine. The fries at DuckFat. Have some drinks next door at East Ender. The ambiance brought us back for dinner and some more drinks. Tandem Coffee Roasters for the loaded biscuit served with locally made butter smeared with strawberry jam. Pure heaven in your mouth. But my sincerest recommendation is Street & Co, found in the heart of Portland. Exceptionally great service and better food. Make your reservation a week before, it is that popular. I was able to score a second reservation the day before we left. I recommend anything with pasta!
